3 m is enough for a doorway or a small window. 6 m covers a stair rail or a shop window. 10 m is for a longer wall or a shop front.

Setting up

1. Connect the power. Choose the battery box, USB lead or mains plug for your setup, then switch it on.
2. Fix the light in place. Use clips, hooks or ties on the structure — fixings are not included — and keep the run clear of doors and walkways.
3. Switch on and set the mode. Power on, then use the switch to pick the mode.

Care and safety

Decorative lighting, not a toy and not task lighting. Keep plugs, adapters and battery boxes out of standing water and away from damp sockets; the light strings themselves are weatherproof for outdoor use in the listed specification. Unplug or switch off before moving or cleaning, and check the cable for damage at the start of each season. Keep out of reach of children under three.

Are fixings included?

No. Plan for clips, hooks or cable ties. Use removable hooks on painted walls, suction cups on glass and screw hooks on timber.

Will it survive rain and frost?

The strand is rated to the IP value above. Frost is fine; standing water and submerged connectors are not.

Will it work on a shelf away from a window?

Yes if the version you choose is battery or USB powered. Solar versions need daylight on the panel to run.
