Tabletop & Accent Lights

In one line: accent lights are self-contained pieces for a surface — a shelf, a bedside table, a bar cart or a mantel — not a run of lights.

The pieces here are chosen for shape rather than coverage: an open wire goblet with a fairy-light core, a rechargeable lantern with a carry handle, a pumpkin silhouette for autumn, a lantern pair for Lunar New Year and a fried-egg glow that reads as a joke gift.

Choosing one

• Battery or rechargeable for a shelf with no socket nearby.
• Mains where the lead can reach without an extension cord.
• Grouping reads better than a single piece — three at different heights on a console.
