Product details

Long solar fairy runs with a remote, so you are not crouching in the dark to change a mode. The dark green cable all but disappears into a hedge or a fence line.

Choose your length

10 m and 20 m are for a fence run or a small tree. 50 m covers a hedge line or a pergola. 100 m is for a garden perimeter, a long fence or a venue.

Styling ideas

Run along a fence top, wrap a tree trunk, thread through a trellis or line a garden path. Place the panel where it gets direct daylight rather than shade.

Before you order

Measure the run, then check the panel position — a shaded panel will not charge enough for a long evening. The remote needs to be within range of the receiver.

Setting up

1. Place the panel in daylight. Face the panel towards the sun, clear of shade and away from sprinklers.
2. Fix the light in place. Use clips, hooks or ties on the structure — fixings are not included — and keep the run clear of doors and walkways.
3. Switch on for automatic dusk lighting. Power on once — the panel charges by day and the light comes on at dusk.

Care and safety

Decorative lighting, not a toy and not task lighting. Keep plugs, adapters and battery boxes out of standing water and away from damp sockets; the light strings themselves are weatherproof for outdoor use in the listed specification. Unplug or switch off before moving or cleaning, and check the cable for damage at the start of each season. Keep out of reach of children under three.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need direct sunlight to charge?

Yes — the panel needs direct daylight for most of the day. A shaded panel will still switch on, but the evening run will be shorter.

What does the remote control?

Power, lighting mode and — on most versions — a timer. Point it at the receiver on the cable or battery box.

Are fixings included?

No. Plan for clips, hooks or cable ties. Use removable hooks on painted walls, suction cups on glass and screw hooks on timber.
