Lighting FAQ
How long do solar string lights stay on?
Runtime depends on charge. A panel in direct daylight through the day typically gives several hours after dusk; shorter winter days mean a shorter run. Place the panel where it gets sun for most of the day, not under foliage.
Do the lights work in rain?
The light strands are weatherproof for outdoor use in the rating stated on each listing. Plugs, adapters and battery boxes must still be kept out of standing water and away from damp sockets.
Can I connect two runs together?
Only within the maximum linked length stated for that product. Mains runs usually link end to end; solar runs are limited by the panel output. If you need more length, use a second power source.
Is a remote included?
Only on the versions listed as remote. Where a remote is included, it controls power, mode and often a timer.
What batteries do the battery versions take?
The battery type is printed on the battery box. Most take standard AA cells; some smaller shapes use button cells. Batteries are not included unless the listing says so.
How do I choose a length?
Measure the cable route — up, across, down — then add 10%. See the length guide.
Can the lights be used indoors?
Yes. USB and battery versions are commonly used indoors on windows, shelves and headboards. Mains versions work indoors too, provided the plug matches your outlet.
How do I fix them to a wall or fascia?
Use clips, hooks or cable ties — fixings are not included with most sets. On painted walls use removable hooks; on glass use suction cups; on timber use screw hooks.
