Choose your run

1.5 m is enough for a shelf, a hook or a doorway. 3 m covers a pergola beam or a window. 6 m runs along a patio edge or a stair rail.

Styling ideas

Hang across a covered patio, drape along a shelf, wrap a mirror frame or run it above a doorway. The woven texture also reads well unlit, which makes it a year-round piece rather than a Christmas-only one.

Setting up

1. Connect the power. Choose the battery box, USB lead or mains plug for your setup, then switch it on.
2. Fix the light in place. Use clips, hooks or ties on the structure — fixings are not included — and keep the run clear of doors and walkways.
3. Switch on and set the mode. Power on, then use the switch to pick the mode.

Care and safety

Decorative lighting, not a toy and not task lighting. Keep plugs, adapters and battery boxes out of standing water and away from damp sockets; the light strings themselves are weatherproof for outdoor use in the listed specification. Unplug or switch off before moving or cleaning, and check the cable for damage at the start of each season. Keep out of reach of children under three.

What batteries does it take?

The battery type is printed on the battery box, usually AA cells. Batteries are not included.

Are fixings included?

No. Plan for clips, hooks or cable ties. Use removable hooks on painted walls, suction cups on glass and screw hooks on timber.

Will it survive rain and frost?

The strand is rated to the IP value above. Frost is fine; standing water and submerged connectors are not.
