Choose your motif

Fu (blessing), Chun (spring), Yu-Fu (surplus and blessing) and Xi (joy) are the four classic characters. The mixed run combines round lantern rings with five larger lanterns for a fuller window.

Styling ideas

Hang across a doorway, a window head, a shop front or a stair rail. Two runs link end to end for a wider opening.

Setting up

3. Switch on and set the mode. Power on, then use the switch to pick the mode.

Care and safety

Decorative lighting, not a toy and not task lighting. Keep plugs, adapters and battery boxes out of standing water and away from damp sockets; the light strings themselves are weatherproof for outdoor use in the listed specification. Unplug or switch off before moving or cleaning, and check the cable for damage at the start of each season. Keep out of reach of children under three.

Can it stay outside all season?

The light strand is weatherproof to the rating listed above. Keep the plug, adapter and any connector above ground level and out of standing water.

Are fixings included?

No. Plan for clips, hooks or cable ties. Use removable hooks on painted walls, suction cups on glass and screw hooks on timber.

Will it survive rain and frost?

The strand is rated to the IP value above. Frost is fine; standing water and submerged connectors are not.
