Clear or frosted

Clear globes show the filament and read as a warmer, more traditional festoon. Frosted globes diffuse the light into an even ball, which suits a calmer, more modern outdoor setting.

Styling ideas

Run them across a pergola, along a fence, over an outdoor dining table, or through a marquee. The 5 m run covers a balcony or a small seating area; 10 m is for a full patio span.

Setting up

1. Check the plug and reach. Confirm the plug type matches your outlet and that the cable reaches your fixing point.
2. Fix the light in place. Use clips, hooks or ties on the structure — fixings are not included — and keep the run clear of doors and walkways.
3. Switch on and set the mode. Power on, then use the switch to pick the mode.

Care and safety

Decorative lighting, not a toy and not task lighting. Keep plugs, adapters and battery boxes out of standing water and away from damp sockets; the light strings themselves are weatherproof for outdoor use in the listed specification. Unplug or switch off before moving or cleaning, and check the cable for damage at the start of each season. Keep out of reach of children under three.

Frequently asked questions

Are fixings included?

No. Plan for clips, hooks or cable ties. Use removable hooks on painted walls, suction cups on glass and screw hooks on timber.

Will it survive rain and frost?

The strand is rated to the IP value above. Frost is fine; standing water and submerged connectors are not.

Can I shorten or extend the run?

Runs are manufactured to length and should not be cut. To cover more distance, use a second run — and check the maximum linked length for the product before chaining them.
