Curtain Lights

In one line: curtain lights fall vertically from a top bar, so they suit a window, a doorway, a wall or a photo backdrop rather than a horizontal edge.

The sets here differ by motif and by how much coverage you want: fine-strand curtains for an even wash, snowflake drops for a winter window, red lantern curtains for Lunar New Year and willow-vine strands for a softer fall.

Getting the look right

• Hang level. A curtain hung at an angle reads as a mistake; check the bar is level before fixing.
• Untangle from the bottom. Strands store better coiled loosely than folded.
• Wind is the enemy. On an exposed wall, fix the lower edge or choose an interior wall.
